What Is RIDE 5?

Think of RIDE as Gran Turismo for motorcycles. Instead of one racing series, it lets you collect and race road bikes, superbikes, naked bikes, classic machines and track-only specials from real manufacturers. You buy bikes, tune and customise them in your garage, and race them on real circuits and scenic road courses.

RIDE 5 is the fifth game in the series and the first built only for current-generation hardware. The big upgrades over RIDE 4 are a reworked physics model for wet and dry surfaces, real-time weather changes, local split-screen multiplayer and a deeper Endurance mode.

Key Features

  • Huge bike collection: more than 200 officially licensed motorcycles. TechRadar counted 233 bikes overall, including DLC.
  • 35+ tracks: a mix of world-famous racing circuits and long road courses.
  • Dynamic weather: races can start dry and turn wet, so grip, braking points and lines change during the race.
  • Endurance mode: long races where fuel, tyre wear and pit stops matter. You can save mid-race and continue later.
  • Race Creator: build your own races and championships, and even set race-director rules.
  • Garage and livery editor: tune performance parts and design your own paint, helmet and suit, then share designs online.
  • Riding aids: assisted braking, steering help and other aids make it possible for beginners to learn the bikes.

RIDE 5 PC System Requirements

These are the official requirements from the Steam page. The game needs a 64-bit version of Windows 10 or later and 50 GB of free space, so an SSD is strongly recommended for faster loading.

What this means in practice: a budget gaming laptop with a GTX 1650 can run RIDE 5 at low-to-medium settings. For high settings and smooth frame rates at 1080p, you will want something close to an RTX 3060 or RX 6600 XT with 16 GB of RAM.

RIDE 5 Price in India and Editions

  • Standard edition: ₹2,999 on Steam India (checked in October 2026).
  • Special Edition: the base game plus the Season Pass and several extra bike and track packs.

What Critics and Players Say

Reviewers mostly agree that RIDE 5 is a beautiful, deep simulator that is not for everyone. On OpenCritic it sits at a “Strong” rating of about 79. TechRadar’s review called it a stunningly realised motorcycle sim, praising the realistic look and sound of the bikes, the long four-chapter career and the accessibility options. Its main complaints were a steep learning curve with no proper tutorial, AI riders that crash too often, and the feeling that it adds relatively little over RIDE 4.

Steam players are a bit kinder: 79% of about 1,430 English reviews are positive, and recent reviews are also Mostly Positive. Common praise is for the bike handling once you learn it, the huge garage and the rain effects. Common complaints mention the difficulty for beginners and the AI behaviour in crowded corners.

Pros and Cons

ProsCons
200+ real bikes and 35+ tracksSteep learning curve, little tutorial help
Realistic physics and convincing wet weatherAI riders can be chaotic and crash into you
Endurance mode with pit stops and save-resumeFeels like an upgrade, not a reinvention, of RIDE 4
Split-screen and online multiplayer50 GB download; needs a decent GPU for high settings
Plenty of riding aids and accessibility optionsSome track-side details look dated

Beginner Tips for RIDE 5

  1. Start with riding aids on. Turn on combined brakes and steering assist, then switch them off one by one as you improve.
  2. Use a controller. Analogue triggers give you far better control of throttle and brakes than a keyboard.
  3. Pick a lighter, less powerful bike first. A 600cc or naked bike is much more forgiving than a 1,000cc superbike.
  4. Brake earlier and in a straight line. Most crashes come from braking while leaned over.
  5. Turn on the racing line until you learn each track.
  6. Lower the AI difficulty in Career to earn credits, then raise it for bigger rewards.

Is RIDE 5 Worth Buying?

Buy it if you love real motorcycles, enjoy collecting and tuning, and want a challenging sim that rewards practice. At ₹2,999 it offers hundreds of hours of content, and much more value if you catch it on sale.

Skip it (or wait for a sale) if you want arcade-style racing you can enjoy from the first minute, your PC is below the minimum specs, or you already own RIDE 4 and are happy with it.
